In addition to the possibility of bathing in the Balaton, a swimming pool pampers our guests. In the 0.60 m water of the pool, the little ones splash around and enjoy the slide that comes here. In the 60 m2 1.20 m deep water, children and adults swim, bathe and massage themselves with the neck shower.
Keszthely, 20 km away, can also be reached by bike from the campsite. It is a favorite place for tourists with its attractions and bustling market fairs. 3 km from Keszthely is the largest thermal water lake in Europe, the famous Héviz Thermal Spa.
Tapolca, the city of waters and a lively commercial center, is located 10 km from our campsite. With its Tavas Cave, which is unique in Europe, and its healing effect, it provides relief for people suffering from various respiratory diseases.

One of the most visited and deservedly popular castles in Hungary, Szigliget Castle, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, now has a history of 750 years. The Szigliget castle is one of the few castles that never carried the Ottoman insignia on its towers during Turkish times. Derék’s soldiers preserved its independence for 150 years. In the reception building, an exhibition presents the wonderful world of the karst regions. The special attractions of 10 rooms guide us through the world of mysterious caves. A crawling cave awaits the children, while the „stone feeler” tests the perceptiveness of the adults. Paleogeographical paintings give a glimpse into the living world of bygone eras. With the help of the three-dimensional photos and the film, we ourselves go on underground exploratory journeys. An exotic artist of nature, karst water forms beautiful shapes from limestone. From the towering karsts of South China through the realm of stalactites, we reach the fragile beauty of the crystal world of the Tapolca caves. Lava and ice cave, tropical karst; so many experiences await the guest here.
Tapolca mill lake
With its Mediterranean houses, the mill building and the beautifully landscaped surroundings of the lake, Malom-tó in Tapolca is one of the most atmospheric districts in our country. If I intended to create an ancient legend of Tapolca, I would write that the history of the city originates from here, from these sources, and perhaps I would not be far from the truth, since archaeological research proves that the Temple Hill dates back to the 1st century. e. It has been inhabited since the 5th millennium and the center of Tapolca was formed in this part of the Middle Ages.

The purpose of the Salföldi major is to present primarily rack sheep, buffalo, gray cattle, poultry, shepherd dogs and horses in an authentic environment created by arranging the old buildings and estates of the Balaton highlands. Lake Balaton is located three kilometers as the crow flies, so the farm on the edge of the village can also be a great alternative for those who did not come to the Káli basin specifically for the sights. Here, in addition to getting to know the forty horse stud and the ponies, you can also run in dog races several times a year. In May and June, for example, they came from Sweden and Finland to compete with their peers in the sheepdog herding championship. Sümeg is waiting
The inner-towered castle, with its irregular polygonal floor plan and north-south orientation, is located on the top of Várhegy, which rises 87 meters above the plain. It consists of three larger units, the outer, inner and citadel. You can go up to the castle on foot, the old castle taxi service is not currently in operation. Entering the outer and then the inner castle gates, we arrive at the castle courtyard, where a real medieval atmosphere welcomes the visitor, flags are waving and cannon barrels are pointed. The Old Tower on the right is the oldest part of the castle, climbing up the spiral staircase we find a small castle history exhibition, in the castle courtyard there is a blacksmith’s workshop, a medieval kitchen, a baker’s workshop, and the torture chamber opening from the inner castle courtyard tempts today’s visitors. We can visit the castle chapel, we can take photos of each other in the courtyard and we can also invite our dear friends and family members. The greatest experience is provided by the fabulous view from the castle walls, we can see the entire fortification clearly, and the small baroque town is spread out before our feet like a map. It is no exaggeration to say that Sümegi Castle offers the most complete medieval castle atmosphere in our country.
